So far we’ve been trying to do something different at every “Close to You” Festival. At the seventh festival, the adventure of walking and theatergoing has been the same as before, as well as the intimacy between puppets and audience. Moreover, we attempt to encourage 9 artist groups having more precise subjects with the spaces, which lead us to view how the inspiration of plays will develop with the nutrition of on-site environments. Besides, it’s also our first year to invite the curator participating in the festival and to bring out interesting impacts and sensational surges by her perspective. With the coming of the biennial festival, you are welcome to experience the known/unknown impression, and explore the 2018 “Close to You” Festival with us!
Walk into the History of Land, and Bring out Different Views

By visiting multiple streets and corners in Taipei these years, I’ve seen culture workers positively preserving the memory of cities. Being touched by them, it has aroused me to think: How can these fascinating theaters response to this land which is full of stories? This year, we will not only walk on streets, but also walk into the history, aroma, and life of land. I’m looking forward to viewing the interaction among artist groups, local history, and sites with particular meanings. Thus, through the performing status of objects, we will experience the present, connect the past, and imagine the future of the city with the audience.
